AB The essay reflects musical events at Palacký University in Olomouc from 1945 until the present. It displays the development in the musical production that has been connected with the functioning of the University. In addition, it assesses the impact of these activities within the City of Olomouc, the region and the higher territorial units. The principal subject of the research is constituted by the reflexion of music functions within rituals and ceremonies of the University, as well as by the production of individual artists, music associations, clubs, or ensembles, working at the University.
