AB  - This works examines the musical style used in the chapel of bishop Karl Lichtenstein-Castelcorno (1664-1695) in Kroměříž, which was the most significant musical institution in the Czech lands in the second half of the seventeenth century. For practical and financial reasons, the chapel was staffed by employees of the Court of the Bishop and by local musicians. These styles were influenced by the contacts of the Chapel of the Bishop with Vienna, Salzburg, Silesia, Poland, Brandenburg, Slovakia and furthermore with Olomouc and Prague.
