Lenka Křupková

Lenka Křupková (1970, Czech Republic) studied piano at the conservatory in Ostrava (1984–1990) and continued her music studies at the Department of Musicology of the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University (1990–1995, M.A. thesis On the Musico-dramaturgical Structure of Janáček’s Opera Věc Makropulos). She completed her postgraduate studies with her dissertation on The Chamber Works of Vítězslav Novák (2001). At the same faculty she studied journalism (1994–1997). Since 1995 she has been working at the Department of Musicology of Palacký University in Olomouc, where she qualified as an university lecturer (2009), she has also been a head of the department since 2012. Her main areas of research interest are Czech music of the 19th and 20th centuries, particularly the work of Vítězslav Novák and Leoš Janáček, Czech and European chamber music, sociology of music, music editing and the history of the German Opera in Olomouc. She has published a number of articles and three books – Studies of the Life and Work of Vítězslav Novák (2006), Vítězslav Novák – Universal Edition Vienna. The correspondence 1910–1935 (2007) and Opera in the German Municipal Theatre in Olomouc II. 1878–1920 (2012).

Jan Blüml

Jan Blüml (1980, Czech Republic): Since 2014 he has been working in the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Musicology, Faculty of Arts, Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic. His main academic interest lies in the history of popular music in Central Europe with special emphasis on music in the former Czechoslovakia. He is also interested in progressive rock and aesthetic issues related to that genre (monograph: Progressive Rock: The Worldwide and Czechoslavak Scene in Selected Reflections, Prague: Togga, 2017, 320 pages.)

Jana Spáčilová

Editor

Jana Spáčilová graduated in musicology at Charles University in Prague (2001, MA) and Masaryk University in Brno (2007, PhD). Since 2014 she has been a member of the Department of Musicology at Palacký University in Olomouc, since 2019 as an associate professor. Her main scientific interest is Baroque music in the Bohemian lands, especially Italian opera and oratorio.
